Madina Javatova, Shamil Javatov’s mother, was the first to report his disappearance. According to her, the young man got lost on July, 4. Officials of law enforcement bodies to whom the young man’s mother appealed replied that they had no requested information. Madina Javatova contacted the policemen on the phone. “They said they knew nothing of Shamil’s fate and the reason for their visit was that he was on the list as an adherent of Wahabiism”, she said.

The news of Javatov’s location came in the afternoon of Wednesday, July, 6. A representative of NAC reported that Shamil Javatov was in the Department of Interior Affairs of Karabudakhkent district of Dagestan.

According to the office, he was found in the forest with two explosive devices by the personnel of the Department of Interior Affairs on July, 6. “The personnel of the Department of Interior Affairs of Karabudakhkent district lay an ambush for the gunmen in the forest, in 4 kilometers distance from the settlement of Kakashura. As a result, they detained a twenty-years-old resident of Makhachkala Shamil Javatov. Two explosive devices, one in a galvanized bucket and the other in a gym bag, were confiscated from him. Both devices were filled with an explosive with brought out wires”, a representative of NAC said.

Yet before the information from NAC came, an action of protest with the participation of Shamil Javatov’s relatives passed off near the building of Public prosecutor’s office of Dagestan. About 50 persons, mostly women, took part in the action. They blocked Yaragsky avenue which resulted in traffic jams. When the information from NAC arrived the participants of the action unblocked the highways.

Shamil Javatov’s uncle Kamalutdin Javatov expressed his indignation in connection with the report from NAC. “Now I know it for sure that my nephew was kidnapped by the personnel of law enforcement bodies on July, 4. Later on explosive devices were planted on him and now they lay a guilt trip on him though he is not guilty of anything”, the young man’s uncle declared.
