Attorney of the defendant accused of murder of fan Sviridov in Moscow will seek for hearing the case in camera
The trial on the case against the twenty-seven-year-old native of Nalchik Aslan Cherkesov accused of murder of “Spartak” football fan Yegor Sviridov will start in Moscow city court today. According to the defendant’s attorney Dmitry Pankov, he intends to ask for holding the next session in camera.
“The form of legal procedure on the case will be decided at today’s session: whether the criminal case will be considered by one judge, three judges or the jury. The suspect’s attorney says that the defense will apply for hearing the case by the jury.
“Today’s session is an ordinary technical procedure, - Dmitry Pankov said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent. – According to the law, hearing cases like this are held in camera”.
Pankov also said that in accordance with the regulations of hearings in camera, Cherkesov will not be brought to the courtroom through the corridors of the court but delivered by a special lift.
