Nagorno-Karabakh welcomes second international festival "Tndjre"

Today in the city of Stepanakert the second youth international festival of classic music "Tndjre" was opened. Musicians from Nagorno-Karabakh, Russia, Germany, Belgium, Latvia, Lithuania, Armenia, Singapore and Austria took part in the festival.

"The aim of the festival is to promote development of classic music in Nagorno-Karabakh, to create opportunities for musicians of a new generation to join the best traditions of performing arts, and to present Karabakh as a country with high cultural values," said an official from the Ministry of Culture and Youth Affairs of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Olga Arzumanyan, the art director of the festival "Tndjre" mentioned that "many people wanted to take part, but they refused for some reasons".

"Some musicians were eager to come to Karabakh, but, since their work is apparently connected with Azerbaijan, they were to withdraw from the participation, although they were very interested in the programme and had the attractive prospects," said Ms Arzumanyan.
