Armenian residents to celebrate International Day for Captive Dolphins
On July 4 the dolphin defenders in Yerevan will hold protest rallies. The protest actions are dated to the World Week for Captive Dolphins, which is held the first week of July.
The ecologist organizations named the day of July 4 the International Day for Captive Dolphins. The pickets in defence of dolphins in captivity will be held on this day all over the world.
In Yerevan, the ecologists intend to hold a picket near the capital's dolphinarium "Nemo" and distribute the leaflets revealing the secrets of training the dolphins, the "Arminfo" reports.
Representatives of different ecological movements will join the action of July, said Silva Adamyan, the chairperson of the NGO "Centre of Birdwatchers"'.
"We want to say, that the dolphins in our dolphinarium are the captives, and to distribute leaflets, which reveals the secrets of training the dolphins," quoted the "PanARMENIAN.Net" Ms Adamyan's speech.
