Natives of Chechnya accused of disorders in Zelenokumsk go on hunger strike

Three brothers and natives from Chechnya – Magomed, Issa and Ayub Gafurov, whose participation in the conflict with Cossacks in Zelenokumsk in November 2010 is considered by the court, went on hunger strike, Natalia Shamra, press-secretary of the Soviet District Court of the Stavropol Territory, reported today.

"The accused went on hunger strike. It became known last night," she said and noted that the court is unaware about the reasons and the starting day of the hunger strike, the "Interfax" reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 27 last year a showdown burst out between the natives of Chechnya and the Cossacks, where the Chechens used firearms and traumatic pistols, resulting in a variety of injures in eight residents of Zelenokumsk. One of the Chechens was also injured.
