Kazan hosts meeting of Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian leaders

Today, Kazan has hosted a tripartite meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia, where Ilham Aliev, Serzh Sargsyan and Dmitry Medvedev discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

As stated in the joint statement adopted at the end of the meeting by the heads of the states, the leaders of the three countries "have reviewed the work conducted on their behalf in order to harmonize the draft of the Basic Principles of Nagorno-Karabakh Settlement." The Presidents have stated "achievement of mutual understanding on a number of issues, the solution of which will contribute to conditions for approval of the Basic Principles."

"Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan have expressed their appreciation to the leaders of Russia, USA and France as co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group for their constant attention to the problem of Nagorno-Karabakh settlement and highly the personal efforts of Russian President for promoting the agreements," the joint leaders' statement has emphasized.
