CTO regime introduced in Djeirakh District of Ingushetia
In the context of the exercises "Kavkaz-2011", conducted by the Frontier Department the Republic of Ingushetia of the Russian FSB, today the legal regime of the counterterrorist operation (CTO) was introduced in the Djeirakh District.
Under the Law of the Russian Federation "On Combating Terrorism", the CTO regime assumes certain restrictions, namely, check of IDs of individuals, who, in case of absence of such documents, may be brought to police stations for identification. People may be evacuated away from particular areas and facilities; motor vehicles may be towed away; protection of public order may be strengthened; traffic of automobiles and pedestrians may be restricted, etc.
The operative headquarters for Ingushetia has addressed residents of the district, urging them to remain calm and "refrain from interfering in the actions of law enforcers."
