Over 100 refugees return to Chechnya from Jordan

On June 23, the refugees, who had fled Chechnya during the two military campaigns, arrived in Grozny from the city of Amman (Jordan).

The flight by a Yak-42 aircraft was free for the refugees. It was organized by the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov.

Earlier in March this year, during his visit to Jordan, Kadyrov met the members of the local Chechen Diaspora. Most of the forced migrants, who found themselves in Jordan over the past 10-15 years, expressed their desire, when talking to the head of Chechnya, to return to their homeland.

Mr Kadyrov then promised that after a thorough check housing conditions would be provided for every returnee family, according to the RIA "Novosti".

In total, 10 free-of-charge air flights are scheduled for those who come back to Chechnya.
