Prosecution demands life imprisonment for accused of Kizlyar attack

The prosecutor Andrei Nazarov, speaking in the debates in the Supreme Court of Dagestan, demanded life imprisonment sentence for all three defendants in the case of terror act in Kizlyar on March 31, 2010.

Double terror act occurred in Kizlyar on March 31, 2010. The first bomb exploded at a militia patrol route, the second one, in 20 minutes, was directed against the militiamen and doctors who arrived at the emergency place. Both explosions were done by bombers. As a result, 12 persons perished and more than 20 were injured.

At the prisoners' dock are Ramazan Magomedov, Shamil Gaziev and Pakhrudin Akhmedov, residents of Dagestan.

"The prosecution has proved the guilt of all defendants in the course of the trial," stated Andrei Nazarov. "Confessions, which defendants gave at the preliminary investigation, completely conform to witness evidences got during the investigation process," the "Interfax" quotes the prosecutor's speech.

In return, defendants' advocates asked the judge to justify their customers. According to the defence, confessions given by the defendants during the preliminary investigation were obtained through torture, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

The defendants also pleaded not guilty in their last words, claiming their innocence in this crime.
