Kucher: Muslims detained in North Ossetia have advocates
In North Ossetia, lawyers and members of the Public Chamber have access to members of Muslim communities who were detained on May 31, stated a session of the Public Chamber of the republic.
On June 20 Hadji Murat Gatsalov, Mufti of North Ossetia, reported that some detainees were not allowed to be visited by advocates. After that the head of North Ossetia announced that he took the situation under his personal control and requested the Public Chamber to check Gatsalov's information.
"Today I spoke to the Minister of Internal Affairs. He told me that advocates have access to detainees. He said that yesterday Alexander Kucher, the Chairman of the Public Supervising Commission visited the detainees, he personally met all of them," said the head of the republic at a session of the Public Chamber.
Mr Mamsurov addressed Alexander Kucher, the Chairman of the Public Supervising Commission, with the question whether the detainees are not allowed to be visited by advocates.
"Each of the detainees has an advocate," answered Kucher.
