South Ossetia: KGB confirms detention of ten Georgian citizens
Georgian citizens were detained in South Ossetia for violation of the state border. Now the investigative activities are carried out, told the press service of the KGB of South Ossetia the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Georgia, lst Saturday, on June 18, the Russian military men detained ten residents of the Onsk District of Georgia.
"In the vicinity of the village of Koz two groups of violators of the state border were detained. By the time of their detention they managed to enter the territory of South Ossetia on the distance of 1.5 km from the state border point. As it turned out later, all of them were residents of the Onsk District of Georgia," confirmed a KGB agent of South Ossetia.
Residents of the Georgian villages situated near the border with South Ossetia are in danger of being detained, because they often stay uninformed about passing the state border point by the Georgian side, stressed the source to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
