Moscow: Yegor Sviridov's murder case in court

The Moscow Prosecutor's Office confirmed the indictment in criminal case against Aslan Cherkesov, a 27-year-old native of the city of Nalchik, accused of killing Yegor Sviridov, a fan of Football Club (FC) "Spartak", and sent the materials to the Moscow City Court for consideration.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, at night on December 6, 2010, a group of young alcohol intoxicated non-residents stopped near public transport station in Kronshtadt Boulevard of the capital. This group, using a trifling reason, provoked the conflict with the fans of the FC "Spartak".

According to investigators, during the fight Aslan Cherkesov, one of the participants in a brawl, applied a traumatic gun and shot out of it several times. As a result, Yegor Sviridov, the football fan, perished in the place while his companion was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds. The investigation alleges that after the fight Cherkesov stole a fan's bag and fled together with the other attackers from the place of crime. Later he was detained by police patrols.

Cherkesov was charged under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. He is accused of hooliganism, murder, attempted murder, intentional causing insignificant harm to people's health and robbery, RBC writes.
