Alexei Dudko's advocate to appeal against verdict

Abusupyan Gaitaev, advocate of the blogger Alexei Dudko, intends to file a cassation complaint against the sentence passed by Judge Natalia Larina from the Taganka District Court of Moscow, which awarded Dudko with 6 years in a minimum security colony.

Alexei Dudko, known on the Internet under the nickname ingushetiya_ru, was indicted on three points: illegal drug possession, illegal possession of firearms and all that committed by a group of persons under prior arrangement. The sentence was passed on June 10.

"It should be noted that the judge still did not follow the request of the prosecutor to sentence Dudko to 10 years of colony. It's not too bad. We'll submit a cassation complaint immediately as we get the verdict on hand – it will happen on Tuesday (June 14). And we'll get preparing for the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR)," Abusupyan Gaitaev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The judge was reading out the sentence for about forty minutes. She noted that Dudko's arguments that FSB officers were interested in his arrest were "unjustified", since all the witnesses summoned, including FSB officers, denied any such interest.

At the same time Alexei Dudko himself, according to his story, had applied before his arrest to the district prosecutor's office that a crime was prepared against him – a forgery, fabricated by his relatives who wanted to take possession of his apartment.

The prosecutor noted that these Dudko's applications were not found at the prosecutor's office. However, Dudko, his advocate and witnesses claim that he had filed them.
