Canadian Armenians go on hunger strike against denial of Armenian Genocide

In the Canadian city of Toronto, eight Armenians began their 72-hour-long hunger strike, saying that they protest against denial by Turkey of Armenian Genocide.

The Armenian Youth Federation "Dashnaktsutyun" of Canada is the organizer of the action.

The hunger strike is held on the eve of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Turkey, to be held on June 12. Among other human rights violations, which, according to the protesters, are committed in Turkey, are the persecutions of the Kurdish and Christian minorities, the "tert.am" reports.

The hunger strike will turn into a protest action to be held on June 13 in front of the Turkish Consulate in Toronto.
