In Georgia, women to hold protest against illegal detentions

On June 14, a peaceful action will be held in front of the building of the parliament in central Tbilisi under the slogan "Women - for Life and Country's Dignity". One of the women's demands is "to release innocent detainees".

The action is dated to the hearing at the legislature of the Ombudsman's report, which is scheduled for June 14, said Eka Beseliya, the leader of the social movement "Solidarity with Illegal Prisoners", said today at a press conference in the Parliament.

The participants of the action plan to demand establishment of a special commission to hold an independent investigation into the May events, explained Ms Beseliya to the "News-Georgia" Agency.
