In Nalchik, policemen liquidate underground casino
Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Kabardino-Balkaria have detected and closed an underground gambling hall, which operated in the capital of the republic.
In the course of operative-search actions, power agents found and confiscated in the Internet salon in Pushkin Street in Nalchik ten personal computers, which had been used for gambling.
The RIA "Novosti" reports, with reference to the press service of the local MIA, that the confiscated PCs belong to a 25-year-old resident of Nalchik.
The law on prohibition of gambling was enacted in Russia on July 1, 2009. By the law, all the gambling facilities were to shut down or move to special gambling zones, located in the Krasnodar Territory, Far East, Altay and Kaliningrad Regions.
The authorities of Kabardino-Balkaria had banned the operation of gambling establishments in the region two years before the relevant federal law - since July 1, 2007.
