Yerevan hosts protest against trial of Tigran Postanjyan

On May 30, several dozens of protesters rallied in Yerevan in front of the courthouse against the trial of Tigran Postanjyan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Tigran Postanjyan, who is kept in "Nubarashen" prison, went on hunger strike in protest against custody conditions. The hunger strike continues for 20 days already.

Tigran Postanjyan, the leading specialist of the municipality of the Arabkir community, was arrested in late February on suspicion of receiving illegal remuneration in the amount of 100,000 drams (about 270 US dollars).

The action in front of the courthouse was attended by activists of the "Heritage" faction, who demanded release of Postanjyan, the "Panarmenian.net" reports.

The "Heritage" insists that Postanjyan's persecution is illegal and is caused by political activities of his sister Zaruya Postanjyan, who is a member of the Armenian delegation to the PACE. Let us remind you that she conducted the investigation into the beating in the prison of journalist Pashinyan.
