Deputy Dagestani MIA head promises to find Shamil Omarov
The relatives of Shamil Omarov, a resident of the village of Sultanyangiyurt, Kizilyurt District of Dagestan, who was kidnapped on May 28, who have organized today a spontaneous rally, had a meeting with a representative of the administration of the head of Dagestan. He received the relatives' application to the name of Magomedsalam Magomedov, where they ask to clarify Shamil's whereabouts and give him out to his family. Sergey Trofimov, Deputy Interior Minister of Dagestan, instructed his subordinates to inform him about the results of searching Omarov.
Let us remind you that on May 28 the car in which Shamil Omarov, 30, was on the way to his work, was blocked by another car. A few men in black clothes and masks went out of the car; they took Shamil out of his car, put him into their car and drove away to some unknown place. Until now, there is no information about his fate. His relatives fear that law enforcers may declare Shamil to be a militant liquidated during a regular special operation. Today, they went out to hold a rally in Makhachkala.
Zelimkhan Omarov, Shamil's father, had demanded a meeting with the Interior Minister of Dagestan. Given that the Minister is away, Shamil's father and aunt, and the imam of the mosque of Sultanyangiyurt, where the Omarovs live, were received by the Deputy Minister Sergey Trofimov.
According to Madina Saitemirova, Shamil's aunt, Trofimov gave an order to his staff to find out the whereabouts of Shamil Omarov and report to him personally about the results of the search by that very evening.
She added that so far the relatives were not going to take any additional action.
According to the relatives, Shamil Omarov was operating his own shop for manufacturing cinder blocks for construction. These were his only earnings; he was a believer and followed the Sufi trend of Islam.
In the opinion of the lawyer Raikhan Magomedova, Shamil Omarov had nothing to do with the militants. She suggests that power agents might have got interested in Omarov, because his cousin is a member of illegal armed formations (IAFs) and hides from law enforcers.
