Custody terms prolonged for the organizers of a hunger strike in Rostov colony

Two organizers of a hunger strike in Rostov colony were sentenced to additional custody terms. Each of them will have to serve one more year of custody.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that in January, 2010, the convicts of a colony of strict regime in Novocherkassk, Rostov region, went on a hunger strike. Over ten people took part in the action.

According to the prisoners' relatives, regular violations of the convicts' rights, in particular, unqualified actions of the medical personnel of the colony, a lot of infringements of the established regulations at the receiver point of parcels from relatives, overrated cost of permitted telephone calls made them resort to these measures.

However, Public prosecutor's office of Rostov region found no infringements of the convicts' rights in the colony.

The court added one more year of custody in Novocherkassk strict regime colony to the two instigators of the hunger strike, "Krestyanin" ("Peasant") newspaper reports.
