A picket against the lack of places in kindergartens passed off in Volgograd
On June, 1, young mothers of Volgograd held a picket demanding solution of the problem of the lack of places in kindergartens in the nearest future. The next picket will pass off today.
From 10 to 11 o'clock, June, 1, 15 mothers of Volgograd with their little children who still cannot be accommodated in kindergartens because of the lack of places gathered in Lenin square, "News of Volgograd and the Region" reports.
The demands moved forward by the young mothers remain the same: total elimination of the "shameful waiting list" and paying off 100% compensation of the cost of a commercial kindergarten for the period of the lack of places, increasing the tutors' and nurses' salaries up to the average level in the region.
As a result of several actions of protest the authorities of Volgograd have raised the funds to provide 3000 additional places in the kindergartens by the end of the year. However the organizers of the pickets state that this is only 10% of the necessary amount.
