Action against violence held in central Tbilisi
Today, a protest rally against the violence of the ruling regime was held in Tbilisi, in front of the Parliament of Georgia, where on May 26 the police dispersed the opposition rally.
Several thousands of people got together in Rustaveli Avenue to express protest in connection with the events of the night on May 26. The territory in front of Parliament was completely filled up with people.
The participants of the action remained silent; no political statements were heard. In the course of the event, thousands of people kept a minute of silence in memory of those killed during the dispersal.
Apart from oppositionists, the action was attended by human rights activists, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports; while the "Interfax" adds that the protesters decided to meet again on May 29.
