Rostov-on-Don to hold flash mob on smoking-quitting day

On May 31 - the Day of Smoking-Quitting - activists of the "Young Guard" will appear in gas masks and offer all the wishing volunteers to give blood samples for determination of the level of carbon monoxide (CO) in the organism.

The activists will gather on May 31 at 5:00 p.m. near the "Jubilee" Cinema to hold a flash mob and mark the World Day of No Tobacco and Smoking, announced by the World Health Organization.

The street action in Rostov-on-Don is called: "May 31 - Smoking-Quitting Day. Forever". Young people will come to the cinema with posters calling to quit smoking. They will wear gas masks. According to organizers, it will symbolize passive smokers, who cannot take deep breaths and inhale fresh air. By their appearance and conversations with passers-by they will encourage Rostov townspeople to quit smoking.

As reported by organizers, they will refer to scientific studies, which have shown that tobacco smoking affects virtually every organ of the human body.

At the flash mob every person will get a free chance to be examined for the content of carbon monoxide in his or her blood. The measurement is made on the gas analyzer MicroCO and takes only 20 seconds.

The "Caucasian Knot" had reported earlier that on the same day a rally within the all-Russian campaign "Strategy-31" was scheduled in Rostov-on-Don.
