Kumaritov: special troops of Georgian MIA block border with South Ossetia
The Georgian authorities have blocked the road across the border between the villages of the Sinagur District of South Ossetia and Georgia and stopped passing villagers through the checkpoint. This was reported by Pavel Kumaritov, Head of the Administration of the Dzaus District of South Ossetia.
According to his story, a few days ago the Kutaisi armed special fighters of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) were deployed in the area adjacent to South Ossetia; and the road was blocked. All the residents who headed to Georgia were turned back.
"South Ossetia did not interfere with communication between residents of border villages (mostly ethnic Georgians), who have residents in Georgia," Mr Kumaritov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
He mentioned that the measure was not connected with the unrests in Tbilisi and other Georgian cities, since it had been undertaken several days ago.
"The reason for this demarche of Georgian authorities is that the residents of Sinagur and surrounding villages have not succumbed to anti-Ossetian propaganda," says Kumaritov.
So far, there are no official explanations of what is happening from the Georgian party.
