Krasnodar Territory: UVD agent kills motorist
At night on May 20, a security officer from the UVD (Interior Department) of Krasnodar shot dead a drunken driver while checking his documents. this was reported by the press service of the Investigatory Department for the Krasnodar Territory of the ICRF (Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation).
Two UVD security agents stopped a VAZ-2106 car, which, according to preliminary data, was on the search list. There were five young men and a girl inside, who seemed drunk to the agents, said a source from law enforcement bodies of the Krasnodar Territory.
"The policemen asked the driver to show documents; the girl reacted aggressively and provoked a conflict, which was joined by the rest of the passengers," the "Interfax" quotes the source.
The policemen called an extra police unit for help; and one of them pulled out his service PM (Makarov pistol) from the holster. As they explained later, the drunk driver rushed on the policeman, who made - in the fight - an involuntary shot in the head of the assailant.
In connection with the incident, a pre-investigation check is carried out. The versions of what happened as viewed by other participants of the incident are unknown yet.
