In Dagestan, court acquits "Chernovik" journalists on all the charges

In the course of the session of the Lenin Federal Court of Makhachkala, the journalists of the newspaper "Chernovik" were found innocent.

The Editor-in-Chief of the edition Nadira Isaeva, the editorial lawyer Biyakai Magomedov and journalists Magomed Magomedov, Arthur Mamaev and Timur Mustafaev were accused of extremism and inciting hatred against certain social groups. The prosecution demanded to deprive all of them of the right to be engaged in professional activities for one year.

Judge Sharapudin Gadjiev referred to the fact that examination had failed to reveal any crime attributes in journalists' publications. The state prosecutor failed to appear at the trial; therefore it was no possible to define whether the verdict would be challenged.
