In Dagestan, beaten parishioners say they cannot complain against law enforcers
Rudlan Khanbutaev, a resident of the village of Sovietskoe, Magaramkent District, who was beaten by local policemen on May 13, complains that the district prosecutor's office and the investigatory committee do their best to ignore the fact of the crime.
"The prosecutor's office refused to accept my application on the fact of beating; however, they registered in writing my coming there. From morning, there's nobody in the investigatory committee; nobody gives any explanations why employees are absent at their workplaces. People in uniform defend each other, including those who had committed specific crimes; they are just protracting the time," Khanbutaev said today to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
It proved impossible to get any comments at the investigatory committee of the Magaramkent District; while the press service of the Dagestani MIA said that they learnt about the incident from the news-tape of the "Caucasian Knot"; now they carry out the necessary actions.
