Oppositionists report dispersal of rally in Batumi
As reported by Manana Salukvadze, an activist of the People's Forum, in Batumi the police have dispersed a rally of supporters of the oppositional Forum with application of truncheons.
Let us remind you that today the People's Forum, which unites several oppositional forces, is holding a protest action in Tbilisi, which is attended by about 10,000 persons. In Adzharia, about a thousand people went out to support their comrades from the Georgian capital.
Ms Salukvadze told journalists that in Batumi servicemen of special troops started with throwing stones at protesters, and then used their truncheons to disperse the rally, the "Interfax" reports.
According to other sources, the opposition supporters, who arrived in Batumi from Ozurgeti, threw stones at the building of the Adzhata TV, after which they were forced away by television securities, while the police did not prevent the opposition in holding their rally, the "Georgia Online" reports.
