Sochi starts 2014 Olympic countdown

Today, the Tsentralny District of Sochi has started the clock that will count down the time remaining till the 2014 Winder Olympic Games.

On May 14 Russia marked 1000 days remaining till the opening ceremony of the first-ever Russia's Winter Olympic Games to be held in 2014 in Sochi.

The countdown clock was switched on a thousand days before the Olympic Games, the "Interfax" reports.

The height of the innovative clock made by the OMEGA Swiss Company is 4.15 meters, its length is 4.408 meters and weight is 3.5 tons. The RIA "Novosti" writes that the design of the clock reflects the spirit of the vibrant and contrasting region, where the majestic snow-capped peaks are combined with the warm Black Sea.
