Rostov Region: ex-assistant of Mayor of Azov suspected of fraud

The former assistant of the Mayor of the city of Azov, suspected of a large-scaled fraud, has been put on the search list.

"The Azov Inter-District Prosecutor's Office has taken control over the investigation into the criminal case initiated against the former assistant of the Mayor of Azov, suspected of fraud amounting to more than 13 million roubles," said Natalia Akhreeva, spokesperson of the Prosecutor's Office of the Rostov Region.

According to law enforcers, in December 2010, the suspect, who was holding then the position of Mayor's assistant, concluded an agency agreement on acquisition of ownership of a land plot in the city for construction of a hypermarket, the "Interfax" reports.
