Chechen refugee Abdullah Erzanukaev killed in France
As reported by the information resources that support North-Caucasian rebels, on May 6, the Chechen refugee Abdullah Erzanukaev (Avstriiskiy) was shot dead from a pistol in France. So far, there is no official information.
Supposedly, it happened, when Erzanukaev was visiting his friends. Details of the incident are not yet fully clear. According to one version, the alleged killer has surrendered to the authorities.
In France, Erzanukaev had applied for the status of a political refugee. He was a successful businessman, supported Chechen refugees in Azerbaijan and organized visits of Western journalists to Chechnya.
In 2003 in Paris he was arrested on suspicion of forcing his business partner to pay money; however, he was released for lack of proofs. Since then, there were no claims to him. The Erzanukaev family was still hoping that France will legally shelter them, one of the websites that supports Chechen militants, writes.
