In Georgia, police arrests protesters

The today's protest action held in the city of Rustavi by the oppositional organization "National Assembly" has ended in detention of its participants.

As reported by the press service of the "National Assembly", the police detained up to 20 protesters.

The oppositionists held their action in front of the house of a senior police official, whom they accuse of corruption, the "Interfax" reports.

The "National Assembly" has announced its intention to start on May 21 broad-scale protest actions in several cities in Georgia, including Tbilisi. Activists want to demand resignation of the government and have invited the entire oppositional spectrum to join their actions. However, members of several leading oppositional parties of Georgia refused to take part in these protests.
