Prosecutor's Office of Ingushetia: oppositionist Khazbiev was not kidnapped
The Ingush Prosecutor's Office has conducted a check of the application lodged by Lydia Khazbieva, mother of the oppositionist Magomed Khazbiev, who complained of illegal actions of law enforcers, who on March 23 kidnapped Khazbiev and his brothers.
On March 23, after a spontaneous rally in Nazran, unknown men in masks, who arrived in cars without number plates, broke into Khazbievs' house, having surrounded the whole residential district; they beat the oppositionist's parents and his brothers; and then forced away Magomed and his two brothers.
"For disobedience to legitimate demands of law enforcers Magomed, Murad and Berd Khazbiev were convoyed with application of coercive measures in accordance with the Law 'On Militia' to the OVD of Nazran," told the Prosecutor's Office.
Deputy Public Prosecutor of Nazran Dobrikov, who signed the official written answer to the Khazbiev family, also denied that the Khazbievs had been beaten. "According to the answer received from the City Hospital, citizens Khazbiev did not apply for medical help," he said.
The suffered oppositionist Khazbiev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he is conducting his own parallel investigation into the incident. The Khazbiev family intends to seek punishment of the perpetrators by all legitimate means.
