Picket against high-rise buildings is on in Sochi
In front of the Central Marketplace in Moskovskaya Street of Sochi, a picket is being held from 2 to 4 p.m., organized by Evgeniy Zakharov, a member of the initiative group for protection of the resort city against skyscrapers.
The picketers are 14 in number - city activists and members of public organizations. They hold posters calling to stop destruction of Sochi resort by chaotically built commercial skyscrapers.
The pretext for the picket were the hearings on April 13 at the administration of the Tsentralny District of Sochi on reconstruction of the Central Marketplace, said Evgeniy Zakharov. Sochi residents ignored these hearings, since they were aimed, by definition of Zakharov, "at destruction of the image of the resort city."
