Operative search officers started search of missing people in South Osetia

A search group of Peace-support mission named after General Lebed started search of those missing since the period of the Georgian-Osetian conflict of 1989-2008. 

"At this stage we are collecting blood samples from the relatives of those missing in order to from genetic and informational maps of the republic. The work on identification of the remains and blood samples will be carried out in the Center of forensic medical examination", Alexander Mukomolov, Chairman of the Council of Peace-support mission, said. 

He reported that South-Osetian non-governmental organization "Memory" was directly dealing with collecting blood samples in cooperation with the somatic republican hospital. 

According to Mukomolov, the operation search officers' work is coordinated with the authorities of South Osetia, RSOnews reports. 

The search of the missing people is financed by the grant of the President of Russia realized by the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, IA "RES" reports.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that the Peace-support mission named after General Lebed had also carried out search of the people missing during the wars in Chechnya.
