Ingush MIA warns those wishing to kidnap brides about criminal responsibility
In Nazran, juveniles committed an abduction of a 14-year-old schoolgirl with the aim to enforce her into marriage. Now, the issue is considered to register the teens by the police. The Ingush MIA has addressed young people asking them to give up this way of marriage and warned about criminal responsibility for abductions.
The abduction of the girl by a group of teenagers, where one of them wanted to marry her, was committed on April 30. Relatives of the young man promptly returned the girl to her parents; and the incident was closed.
As reported by a source from law enforcement bodies, after the information arrived about the abduction, the interior bodies undertook a set of steps; the kidnappers were established in half an hour; and preventive work was performed with their families.
The source added in his conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that now the issue is considered on putting the teens on prophylaxis registration at the police in order to exclude any further illegal actions on their part.
"Practically all the unofficial websites, which cover the events in the republic, have reported about the kidnapping, pointing out that the kidnappers were armed and their faces were covered with masks, and giving other 'details'. The conducted check, including the study of data from surveillance video cameras, shows that the guys had no masks and no firearms," said the source.
He urged the elders and parents to use their influence to eradicate the cases of abduction with the aim of marriage.
