Explosion near central Moscow OVD injures policeman
At night on May 3 an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in the car park of the OVD (Interior Division) and injured a policeman, said a source from law enforcement bodies of Russian capital.
"The incident happened outside the OVD 'Zamoskvorechie' in Pyatnitskaya Street. A police ensign found an unattended suspicious plastic bag with an IED inside near the building. The bomb blew up when he examined the bag," said the source.
The victim was hospitalized with injured leg and eyes, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
The Moscow GUVD (Chief Interior Department) confirmed the explosion. "It happened at about two o'clock in the morning," said Viktor Biryukov, Head of the GUVD's Department for Information and Public Relations.
