A requiem for the victims of terror passed off at school No 1 of Beslan

On Tuesday, May, 3, the religious holyday All Souls' Day ("Radonitsa") in North Osetia, a commemoration requiem for the lost hostages and special squad soldiers, victims of terror of September, 2004, passed off at school No 1 of Beslan.

The requiem in the destroyed gym was served by Zosima, Archbishop of Vladikavkaz and Makhachkala. Members of the Committee "Mothers of Beslan", pupils of the school and former hostages came to honor the memory of the victims.

Rita Sidakova, member of the Association of victims of terror "Mothers of Beslan", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that after the ceremony was over, Archbishop talked to the visitors. "He told them that those who committed that awful act using the women and children as a cover did that because of their weakness", she said.

According to Sidakova, after the requiem Archbishop Zosima walked round the gym where the hostages had been kept once again and looked at all the photos with great attention.

Still before the requiem Archbishop Zosima blessed the members of the organization "Mothers of Beslan" Susanna Dudieva and Elvira Tuayeva who had taken the plane for Moscow for a meeting with President Dmitry Medvedev.
