As a result of a breakdown of service settlements of plain areas of Shelkovskoy district of Chechnya have been cut off power. Experts of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and "Nurenergo" company are working on the scene of the incident.

"Today at about four a.m. a breakdown of service occurred at the substation of "Shelkovskaya", Shelkovskoy district of the republic. Experts of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and "Nurenergo" company were sent on an assignment to the place. They found out that the cause of the breakdown was a damage of isolation of a sectionalizing switch. Repair-and-renewal operations are currently in process at the substation", the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Chechnya.

According to the Ministry, about 30 thousand people have been left without electricity supply as a result of the breakdown at the substation in Shelkovskoy district. It is planned to restore power supply till this evening.

It should be mentioned that mass power cutoffs have also taken place in Chechnya before. Last August about 20 thousand people remained without electricity supply, also because of a breakdown at the substation in the stanitsa of Shelkovskaya. An ignition of a reserve cell happened then.
