In Volgograd, residents of Northern Caucasus and oppositionists are questioned on blast case

Investigation of the criminal cases opened after the explosions triggered on April 26 continues. Power agents are interrogating visitors from Northern Caucasus and activists of the non-systemic opposition.

According to power agents, there are no detainees or suspects yet. So far, investigators are questioning natives of North-Caucasian regions, representatives of non-systemic opposition and nationalists, the "Kommersant" writes.

Judging by the activity of law enforcers, their focus is on people coming from the NCFD (North-Caucasian Federal District) regions.

Thus, Vakhid Shamaev, head of the Regional Society of Chechens "Bart-Accord", said that some two or three dozens of Chechens and other natives of Northern Caucasus were detained: "They interrogate us, take photos and fingerprints, and then let us go. But such suspicion - doesn't it hurt?" According to Shamaev, he was also summoned for questioning.

Boris Stikhin, head of the Volgograd branch of "The Other Russia" was interviewed at the Regional Centre to Combat Extremism: "I was asked about my opinion, and then I wrote an explanation. They also reminded me about my phrase from the speech at the rally, 'Long live revolution!' They said: now you see the result of such appeals?" According to Stikhin, there cannot be any radicals among the supporters of "The Other Russia" in Volgograd, because in such case the organization will not be able to carry out its activities.
