Rostov-on-Don: local resident convicted for false report about terror act

The Leninsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don found Vladimir Bagin, a local resident, guilty of willingly false reports about terror acts and sentenced him to a real term in prison, said the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Rostov Region.

The court has sentenced Bagin to 15 months of imprisonment in a high security colony.

The investigation revealed that on August 6 last year Bagin, while in the state of alcoholic intoxication, called the police from his mobile phone and reported about mining and prepared explosion of block of flats No. 130 and of the court of No. 180 in Sotsialisticheskaya Street in Rostov-on-Don. These false reports were put into the basis of the sentence, the agency "Interfax-South" reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that it became known today that in Stavropol a criminal case against a local resident, who had also reported about a terror act, was transferred to the court. The investigation found out that the reporter had no real information about any prepared explosions and called the "Rescue Service" in the state of alcoholic intoxication.
