A figurant of the case of murder of Markelov and Baburova hospitalized after an attempt of suicide
Nikita Tikhonov, defendant on the case of murder of lawyer Stanislav Markelov and journalist Anastasia Baburova, has slashed his wrists in the investigative isolation ward "Matrosskaya Tishina", therefore hearing the case was deferred. Officials of law enforcement bodies consider that the attempt of suicide has been just a feint.
Vladimir Zherebenkov, the aggrieved party's attorney, reported that Tikhonov was at the hospital of the investigative isolation ward "Matrosskaya Tishina" at the moment after his attempt of slashing his wrists, "Interfax" reports.
A source in law enforcement agencies confirmed this information. "The physicians who examined Tikhonov ascertained that the wounds from the cuts on his hands were not deep. Therefore, it can be stated that it has been not a real attempt but a simulation of a suicide", "Gazeta.ru" quotes one of the sources.
