Inara Gabaraeva to complain to the Prosecutor's Office against those who threatened her
The rights defender from South Ossetia is going to apply to the Prosecutor's Office against those who threatened her. Inara Gabaraeva has confirmed the information spread within the last day on the Internet that on April 14 she received threats from three unidentified men who introduced themselves as employees of the Ministry of Defence of South Ossetia.
"Yesterday three Ossetian nationals accused me in a rude form of my agitation of local residents towards changing power in the republic and towards reconciliation with Georgia," said the human rights activist.
Inara Gabaraeva finds such accusations foolish.
"I plan to apply to the Prosecutor's Offices of South Ossetia and Russian Federation. I'm a fire victim; and I lost my house and all my belongings in the war of 2008. My daughter missed her school fearing that something terrible may happen to me, if she leaves me at home alone. Why should I be afraid of someone in my house?" the woman said in a telephone conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
She asserts that she has a video record made by mobile phone, where the faces of the persons who threatened her are clearly seen; and threats against her are clearly heard.
"I gave out this record; and soon it will appear on the Internet," she said.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Defence of South Ossetia, there are no facts confirming that some officers of the Ministry threatened Inara Gabaraeva.
According to the on duty unit of the GUVD (Chief Interior Department) of South Ossetia, within the last day no applications about any threats filed by citizen Inara Gabaraeva have been registered.
