Exercises "Viking-2011" held in Georgia

The multinational exercises "Viking-2011" were held at the military base in Vaziani near Tbilisi within the framework of the NATO programme "Partnership for Peace".

The exercises were held virtually by means of simulation networks. The actions occur in a virtual country named "Bogaland". The aim was to coordinate the conduct of peacekeeping operations against terrorists in some remote area.

The Georgia's participation in the exercises was by 130 militaries and civilians; and as reported by the "News-Georgia", the exercises were held with then help of network simulators and served to improve peaceful anti-crisis operations.

In total, militaries and civilians from 24 countries took part in the "Viking-2011". The main headquarters was in Sweden, while the brigade ones were in Georgia, Austria, Germany, Ireland and Ukraine.
