In Dagestan, businessman accused of funding militants, earlier worked as court marshal

Ruslan Atavov, an entrepreneur from Khasavyurt, suspected of financing the armed underground and killed in January this year during a special operation, had earlier worked as a court marshal at the inter-district division of the Court Marshals' Service for special executive proceedings.

Let us remind you that in late March power agents of Dagestan announced that they were searching Ruslan Atavov, director of the "Simpeks" Company, who, according to investigators, had transferred more than 165 million roubles to militants' needs: to buy arms, ammunition, food and clothes. Later it turned out that Atavov was liquidated in the course of special operation in Makhachkala on January 13.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the press service of the Russian Federal Court Marshals' Service in Dagestan that entrepreneur Ruslan Atavov had earlier worked as a court marshal and was found guilty of a large-scale theft of other people's property - worth about 973,000 roubles.

According to the NAC, back in 2008 Atavov was engaged in cashing large sums of money through one-day companies; and after August 2010 he was on the federal search list for illegal arms trafficking. The NAC added that during the previous search weapons, components for self-made explosive devices and a pistol silencer were found in his flat.

Atavov was also suspected of involvement in preparation of the terror act that was committed in his hometown on October 23, 2010. Then, militants planned to blow up the OMSN (Special Militia) of the MIA, where about 50 special agents could have perish. While preventing this terror act, policeman was lost.
