FSB: local residents liquidated in Abkhazia were suspected of terrorist activities
The two residents of Abkhazia killed today in a skirmish have been identified as Vasha Sechinava and Malkhaz Kharchilava. According to the Russian Federal Security Bureau (FSB), they are diversionists from Georgia.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today a Russian frontier officer was killed in a shelling of a border patrol unit in the Gali District of Abkhazia. The two men who attacked the patrol were killed by return fire.
"Vasha Sechinava and Malkhaz Kharchilava were direct subordinates of Zurab Logua, deputy head of the intelligence division of the Department for Constitutional Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia in the Zugdidi District," reports the Public Relations Centre (PRC) of the Russian FSB.
According to the PRC, "the agents of the Georgian special unit were searched in Abkhazia for their diversive and terrorist activities", the "Interfax" reports.
"Besides, Sechinava was a close relative of another agent of the above Department for Constitutional Security of the Georgian MIA, who was killed in January 2010 in an attack of employees of the Gali RUVD (District Interior Division)," the staff, which was abolished during the attack on the police department officers in the Gali District," the RIA "Novosti" quotes the statement of the FSB.
Let us remind you that immediately after the incident, the Abkhazian party accused Georgia of organizing the attack. So far, the Georgian party gave no comments on the incident.
