In Astrakhan, court marshals demand Teplischev to move out within ten days
This morning the house of the Astrakhan journalist Oleg Teplischev was visited by court marshals with the aim to notify about the court's decision to evict the journalist and his mother out of their two apartments in the building in central Astrakhan. They were given ten days to do it.
Teplischev himself is currently in hospital; and court marshals notified him about the forthcoming eviction by phone. The journalist told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the "alternative" housing they are offered in the outskirts of the city "is dozens of times cheaper than their current home."
He also expressed his doubt as to the legitimacy of the judicial decision on his and his mother's eviction within ten days, because during the trial he was in hospital; the decision was made in his absence and he had no chance to justify his position before the court.
Oleg Teplischev believes that his eviction is an act of pressure on him by the authorities because of his journalistic activities.
