Ingushetia: militants' base bombed, many casualties

According to preliminary estimates, 17 persons have been killed in an air attack on the militants' base in Ingushetia. As reported by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), after the operation power agents accused two detainees of preparing the terror act at the "Domodedovo" Airport.

"As a result of a localized impact of Air Forces and a surface operation a militants' base was liquidated; it was used for training suicide bombers, including for terror acts in the territories of the Republic of North Ossetia (Alania) and Ingushetia. Under preliminary data, 17 bandits were killed; and two participants of the terror act in 'Domodedovo' were detained," says the statement of the NAC as quoted by the "Gazeta.Ru".

A source from local law enforcement bodies said that the two alleged accomplices in the "Domodedovo" terror act would be brought to Moscow today. He did not disclose the names of the detainees, saying only that they, according to investigators, had delivered the suicide bomber to Moscow. The source said that the detainees had already been questioned by the investigator, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

Also today, in the village of Verkhniy Alkun, Sunzha District, Aslan Tsechoev, a suspect of helping militants, was liquidated. In the course of the operation, according to latest data, two FSB officers and one employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) perished, the ITAR-TASS reports.
