In North Ossetia, group of cyclists join "Earth Hour" action

Activists of the Mozdok branch of the All-Russian Bicycle Movement "Rusvelos" took part in the annual action "Earth Hour", held today by the World Wildlife Fund with the aim to promote a transition to more ecology friendly lifestyle.

Within the "Earth Hour" action, every year on a particular day and hour people, organizations and administrations all over the planet switch off the unnecessary illumination.

In North Ossetia, the activists of the movement put LED lamps onto their bicycles and toured within one hour - at 8:30-9:30 p.m. - over the streets of Mozdok. Besides, they addressed - through the Internet and district newspaper - to townspeople with a request to switch off illumination in their homes, unnecessary electric appliances, and to go out into the city streets - to walk and not to waste electricity.

The action "Earth Hour" is a step to revising ordinary everyday habits, to rationally use electric power and be careful with water and other natural resources.
