Georgia sent million dollars to help calamity victims in Japan
The money was sent via the Japanese office of the International Red Cross. Besides, the Georgian authorities are still ready to send drinking water and a rescue team to Japan.
Let us remind you that the Georgian government was ready to send humanitarian aid a few days ago, but Japan refused to receive the shipment because of technical problems.
As reported by the press service of the Georgian Foreign Ministry, today a meeting took place of David Dzhalaganiya, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, with Japanese Ambassador Masayoshi Kamohara, where the parties discussed their countries' mutual relations and the situation in Japan after an earthquake on March 11.
The information about the above million US dollars sent by Georgia to Japan to help to cover the needs of victims of the earthquake and tsunami. Georgia is also ready to send to Japan 45 tons of drinking water, and, if necessary, a rescue team, the IA "News-Georgia" reports.
