All the persons detained in the village of Shamkhal-Station, Dagestan, released
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Timur Sheikhov, a villager, that about 100 persons, detained by power agents when coming out of the mosque in the village of Shamkhal-Station, Kirov District of Makhachkala, were let home.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported earlier with reference to another villager - Magomed Magomedov - that in the village of Shamkhal-Station, Kirov District of Makhachkala, law enforcement officials conducted a mass detention of the mosque congregants who came for their Friday prayer.
"Relatives of the detainees went to the Kirov ROVD (District Interior Division) of the capital of Dagestan, where they were told that there was not a single detainee there. Later it became known that all of them had been taken to the village of Krasnoarmeiskoye, where they were fingerprinted, photographed, and let to go home," said Sheikhov.
According to his story, today Shamkhal-Station was completely blocked by power agents. They checked home by home and detained the young guys they had on the list without explaining anything. He also said that power agents had already left the village.
Isalmagomed Nabiev, chairman of the independent trade union of entrepreneurs and drivers of Dagestan, believes that such actions of power agents could still further destabilize the situation in the republic. "I don't know how to comment on the incident. Probably, people with shoulder straps decided to register all the so-called Wahhabites, but it's a dead end road. Wahhabism is a classical Islam, which will soon become dominant in Dagestan, since more and more young people join it. They'd better seek common language with these youngsters; while the law against Wahhabism should be cancelled, as it is discrediting the whole legal system," he said.
